- We have found that a 1:2 ratio works best for Black Swan Espresso (that is one part coffee to two parts water).
- We aim for 18g in and 36g out or 18g dry grounds and 36g liquid.
- To achieve the 36g out, you will want to “stop” the shot when the scale reads approximately 34g.
- You will also want to time your shots along with weighing them out. We have found that anywhere between 32-38 seconds is ideal for Black Swan.
- As you are dialing in, you will need to slowly adjust the grind settings on the grinder to achieve these parameters.
Notes from the team: These brew ratios and recipes are not meant to be prescriptive but rather a helpful guide to get you started. Our goal as a company is to provide a stepping stone to make brewing coffee a little less scary. We are here for you and we know you got this! Play around with ratios, pull a lot of shots, have fun with it, and if you run out of coffee - we will always have another bag ready for you!
