Belarminio Ramirez, Dominican Republic

Description
At the heart of the Dominican Republic, the Ramirez Estate produces coffee with a purpose. Their red honey process enhances the natural sweetness by leaving some fruit intact during drying, allowing sugars to deepen into rich caramel and ripe fruit notes. This careful method requires precision and patience, yielding a cup that’s both complex and deeply satisfying.
But the Ramirez family’s impact goes far beyond flavor. They harness fermented coffee cherries to create natural gas, partially powering their operations with sustainable energy. Their commitment to the community is just as strong—funding schools, donating books and computers, and ensuring education is accessible to children who would otherwise walk over 15 km to class.
Each cup of their coffee tells a story—not just of extraordinary craftsmanship, but of sustainability, social impact, and ethical commitment. When you savor this red honey-processed coffee, you’re tasting more than flavor. You’re tasting change, one sip at a time.
