Drop By Drop

Description
Our story begins in the lush Mogiana region of Brazil, at the Santo Antonio de Esperanca farm. Here, fourth-generation coffee producer Carla Giacchero cultivates this exceptional washed Catuai coffee. Carla is part of Olam’s Café Delas initiative, a program committed to sourcing green coffee from women-owned farming operations and ensuring they are paid directly for their hard work. These women are not only key decision-makers in their coffee production but also actively support and educate other women in the coffee industry, empowering them to become community leaders.
These efforts in the coffee world profoundly inspire our own operations, driving us to fulfill our mission of elevating people, places, and moments through coffee. In alignment with this mission, a portion of the proceeds from this coffee will be donated to Alström Syndrome International. This global nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing vital support to individuals and families affected by Alström Syndrome.
Alström Syndrome is a rare and complex genetic disorder, impacting multiple bodily systems including vision, hearing, heart function, and metabolism. Though the Alström community is small, it is remarkably resilient and deeply connected. A powerful symbol within this community is a glass Damla, a single drop of water. This Damla embodies the community's guiding belief: “Drop by drop, we make a lake.” Through shared experiences, unwavering strength, hope, and the advancements of science, this community is creating a ripple of lasting change—one drop at a time.
