Our green coffee buyer, Ryan, recently traveled to Colombia to bring back the best coffees from our favorite regions: Nariño, Tolima, and Huila. After an exhaustive week of cupping over 150 microlots, this coffee from producer Uriel Torres made the favorites list.
Uriel’s farm, La Ilusión, is nestled in a thick forest fed by fresh, clean water from the nearby Ata river. Add a dash of volcanic soil, organic farming at an elevation of 1780 meters, and a dry fermentation time of 24 hours, and it’s obvious that this 100% Caturra variety coffee was
destined to be a stunner.
