Kenya Gatomboya AB
The Barichu Farmers Cooperative Society must really have the special sauce. Of the four washing stations that the group operates in Nyeri county, the Gatomboya washing station is the third to make it onto our offering list. (Long-time Novel fans may remember Gaturiri AA and Karatina Peaberry from 2017 and 2018.) Members of the group cultivate an average of 250 coffee trees and practice intercropping to keep the soil healthy. After drying, these beans were separated by size to create the AB (smaller bean size) designation. We love AB lots because smaller beans are often the most dense and pack the most complexity and intensity.
