The Asociación de Apicultores y Caficultores ("Association of Beekeepers and Coffee Growers") is a non-profit organization that consists of 24 members in Unión Cantinil, Huehuetenango. The group works to preserve and restore the environment by implementing organic, sustainable coffee farming methods and maintaining healthy bee populations. As it turns out, even bees enjoy a little extra buzz— caffeine present in coffee flower's nectar invigorates bees, improving their focus and memory, helping them to become more efficient pollinators.
