In 1977, 50 farmers from the municipality of Sandoná formed the Cooperativa de
Caficultores de Occidente de Nariño with the goal of improving quality and improving lives. Today it has over 1600 members in 12 municipalities inside Nariño. This Castillo variety lot was given the name “Chachagui” meaning “land of clear waters.” Elevations around 1900 meters give this coffee a sparkling acidity reminiscent of blood orange and a rich sweetness with flavors of brown sugar and buttercream.
